Under 14 Development Programme

Netball Hutt Valley will be selecting squads and/or teams in the U14 (Development) age group. 

Under 14 Age Group Information

Netball Hutt Valley aspire to provide opportunities for our players to develop and play at local tournaments.

To be eligible players must: 

• Be under the age of 14 as at 1st January 2026, and be in year 9 or above at secondary school.
• Be affliated to a NHV/NHVSSA school or club during the 2026 season. 
• Year 7&8 players are not eligible for the under 14 or NHV representatve programmes. Year 7&8 players are eligible to register for the Year 7&8 PDP or attend the school holiday programmes delivered April through to July. Please refer to the year 7&8 offerings under the Developement tab. 

Player Eligiblity 

Please note ALL players must be registered & playing in the NHV or HVSSA competitions in 2026 to be eligible to play for Netball Hutt Valley. Players must also regsiter & play within their eligible age group in the first instance, and will not be eligble to play up an age grade.

Player nominations can be made via the registration form link sent to schools and clubs/ available online. NHV will make contact with nominated players prior to scheduled trial dates with further information. 

Please ensure you select the correct positions on your registration form as it is very hard to make changes on the day and we cannot guarantee you will get a run in your preferred position if you change on the day. If there is an overload in certain positions i.e. midcourt some players may be asked to play in additional positions. We will endeavour to ensure all players have the opportunity to play in their preferred position(s) for a minimum of three games per trial. 

Dispensations

Inability to attend the try out date(s) may impact your pod/squad selection. We strongly recommend you make yourself available for all try out date(s). In special circumstances a dispensation may be granted provided a valid reason has been given for why a trialist may miss a trial. If seeking dispensation please email admin@netballhuttvalley.co.nz with your valid reason outlined in the message. Dispensations will be granted at the discretion of the CDO and Age Group selection panel.

Squad/Team Selection

The squad will be announced a minimum of three days after the completion of the try outs. 

Once named in a squad/team players will be liable for full payment. If you withdraw after the team announcements you will be charged the full amount.

If you cannot make training it is expected you notify your coach/manager at the earliest time possible. 

Festivals

Players selected must be available to attend the festival days. If you are unable to attend one-off tournaments please advise as soon as possibe to aid in our planning. 

Players are to wear their PDP t-shirt and black tights/shorts when participating in festival days.

Fees

• $100 per participant
• Players will receive a PDP t-shirt (if they do not already have one in good condition) to keep.
