Under 14 PDP Squad

This season we had seventy-eight registrations received for the Under 14 PDP programme.

The programme consisted of a try out, four development sessions and two festival days.

This programme provides players an opportunity to get a taste of what the future development and representative programme looks like in the under sixteen & eighteen space.

We provide players the chance to have a go at a trial scenario and learn to play with other players displaying strong skillsets, adaptability, teamwork, and attitude. 

Players then spend time with their coaches focussing on skillsets; footwork, movement, ball skills, and tactical play; centre pass, through court, circle work. 

Then it is game time - players get a chance to experience what it is like playing back-to-back games in a tournament. How important it is to have good off-court care and practises in place such as sleep, hydration, recovery, fuels to keep you going at the same intensity for up to four games in a day. 

This season we paired an experienced coach with a developing coach to ensure we could provide learning opportunities for coaches alongside players. With the emphasis on identifying skill development (landing on the correct leg, safe & effective movement and ball skills). 

Development Areas

Players: skill, tactical, game play, preparation, mental approach when things get tough

Coaches: development of training sessions, delivery of sessions, reflection, decision making under pressure in a tournament setting

Umpires: Decision making under pressure, development, opportunities for feedback from umpire coach leads 

We look forward to continuing to grow in this space inviting players, coaches & umpires to get involved and give it a go. 

Dates for the 2026 season will be released in January.
